52:27BB-36.Ā Audits by department
Whenever the director finds that the financial affairs of a municipality orĀ county require special supervision, he may require that the regular audits ofĀ such municipality or county be made only by the auditing staff of the division. In such cases the director may make such investigations and analyses inĀ addition to the standard requirements for audits, as the financial affairs ofĀ the municipality may warrant.Ā Reasonable notice of the decision of theĀ director to make the regular audit in a municipality or county shall be givenĀ to the governing body.
