53:5A-11.Ā Retirement for disability;Ā medical examination;Ā report
a.Ā Upon the receipt by the retirement system of a written application for aĀ disability retirement allowance, the system shall refer the application to theĀ medical board, which shall designate a physician or physicians to examine theĀ applicant and the report of the medical board shall be considered by the boardĀ of trustees in acting upon such application.
