9:10-4.Ā Superintendents of detention house or school in certain counties
The board of chosen freeholders of a county of the second class, the third class or the fifth class, which has a detention school or a detention house mayĀ by resolution appoint a superintendent therefor who in addition to his dutiesĀ as superintendent shall be an assistant county probation officer with all theĀ powers and duties prescribed by law for an assistant probation officer.Ā HeĀ shall perform such duties as shall be fixed by the board or by statutesĀ relating to detention houses or schools. He shall hold office during theĀ pleasure of the board and his salary shall be fixed by the board.
