9:17A-5.Ā Informing spouse, parent, custodian or guardian of minor's treatment
Upon the advice and direction of a treating physician or, if more than one,Ā any one of them, a member of the medical staff of a hospital, public clinic, orĀ physician licensed to practice medicine, may, but shall not be obligated to,Ā inform the spouse, parent, custodian or guardian of any such minor as to theĀ treatment given or needed, and such information may be given to, or withheldĀ from the spouse, parent, custodian or guardian without the consent of the minorĀ patient and even over the express refusal of the minor patient to the providingĀ of such information.
