22-5-203. Oath of members. [Effective in Certain Counties. See the Compiler’s Notes.]

(a)  Before entering upon the discharge of their duties, each member of the board of jury commissioners shall take and subscribe, before an officer authorized to administer oaths, the following oath, which shall follow the appointment or commission:

“I,   _____________________________________  and  _____________________________________ , and  _____________________________________ , do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties imposed upon me as a member of the board of jury commissioners of  _____________________________________  County to the best of my knowledge and ability; that I will never place the name of any person on the jury list or in the jury box whom I believe to be corrupt or unfit, or who is known not to be in sympathy with the enforcement of the law, who is a law violator, or who has to my knowledge solicited or had others to solicit that the person's own name be placed on the jury list; and that I will keep secret and inviolate the deliberations, proceedings and counsel of this board in the discharge of its duties, unless called upon to give evidence thereof in some legal tribunal of this state, so help me God.”

(b)  The appointment and oath shall be spread upon the minutes of the circuit court and upon the minutes of the criminal court in the counties where such court is held at the first term after the appointments are made.
