4-40-410. Creation of special joint committee. [Effective until June 30, 2010. See the Compiler’s Notes.]

On or before July 1, 2010, there shall be created a special joint committee to study issues pertaining to the Diabetes Prevention and Health Improvement, Access Tennessee, Cover Tennessee and CoverKids programs and to determine appropriate legislative actions with respect to these programs. The committee shall consist of five (5) members of the house of representatives and five (5) members of the senate, to be appointed by the speakers of the house of representatives and the senate. All appropriate state agencies shall provide assistance to the special joint committee upon request of the chair. The special joint committee shall be convened on or before July 1, 2010, by the member with the most years of continuous service in the general assembly, and at its first meeting shall elect a chair, vice chair, and other officers that the committee deems necessary. The special joint committee shall timely report its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, no later than January 15, 2011, at which time the committee shall cease to exist.
