49-5-5241. Apprentice teacher licensing.

(a)  Any person who meets the minimum qualifications to be an apprentice teacher shall receive a license, which shall be valid for three (3) years.

(b)  Any person obtaining a license as an apprentice teacher is eligible for employment by any LEA. Any local board of education, upon the director of schools' recommendation, shall have the authority to employ a teacher with an apprentice license.
