55-12-134. Additional proof required Suspension or revocation of license or registration pending filing of additional proof.

Whenever any proof of financial responsibility filed under the provisions of this chapter no longer fulfills the purposes for which required, the commissioner shall, for the purpose of this chapter, require other proof as required by this chapter and shall suspend the license and the nonresident's operating privilege pending the filing of the proof. If the commissioner of safety suspends a person's license for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility as provided in this chapter, the commissioner of safety shall also request that the commissioner of revenue suspend that person's motor vehicle registration pending the filing of that proof.
