55-8-184. Indication of ownership on traffic control signs, signals, markers or devices Unlawful possession Penalty.

The department of transportation or any agency of local government responsible for erection or maintenance of any traffic-control sign, signal, marker or device is authorized to indicate the ownership of the sign, signal, marker and device in letters on the back of those items in letters not less than one-fourth inch (¼²) nor more than three-fourths inch (¾²) in height by use of a metal stamp, etching, or other permanent marking. Unlawful possession of any such sign, signal, marker or device is a Class C misdemeanor.
