68-41-103. Advisory committee.

The commissioner shall appoint a hemophilia advisory committee to consult with the department in the administration of this chapter. The committee shall be composed of seven (7) persons, one (1) representative each from hospitals, medical schools, blood banks, voluntary agencies interested in hemophilia, local public health agencies, medical specialists in hemophilia, and the general public. Each member shall hold office for a term of four (4) years and until such member's successor is appointed and qualified, except that the terms of the members first taking office shall expire, as designated at the time of appointment, one (1) at the end of the first year, two (2) at the end of the second year, two (2) at the end of the third year, and two (2) at the end of the fourth year, after the date of appointment. Any person appointed to fill a vacancy occurring prior to the expiration of the term for which such person's predecessor was appointed shall be appointed for the remainder of such term. The committee shall meet as frequently as the commissioner deems necessary, but not less than once each year. The committee members shall receive no compensation but shall be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred in carrying out their duties as members of this committee. All reimbursement for travel expenses shall be in accordance with the provisions of the comprehensive travel regulations as promulgated by the department of finance and administration and approved by the attorney general and reporter.
