7-1-108. Appointment of state officials to public utility boards.

Notwithstanding any provision of law, including any provision of a municipal or metropolitan charter to the contrary, the appropriate appointing authority may appoint at least one (1) elected state official to serve as a member of the board of any public utility operated by a municipality or metropolitan government. The provisions of this section shall only apply to those counties having a metropolitan form of government.
