§ 1-2-4 Contracts for development andoperation of airports. – The department of transportation is authorized to make contracts on behalf ofthe state in relation to the development, operation and maintenance of a stateairport or landing field and to grade the grounds and put them into suitablecondition for use as a landing field and to provide any facilities andaccommodations that it may deem necessary. All contracts are awarded asprovided in § 42-11-2.
