SECTION 1-4-14

   § 1-4-14  Enforcement – Cooperation ofpublic agencies. – (a) It is the duty of the director, deputy director, aeronautics inspectors,and every state and municipal officer charged with the enforcement of statelaws to enforce and assist in the enforcement of this chapter. The director isfurther authorized in the name of the state to enforce the provisions of thischapter by appropriate proceedings in the superior courts of this state. Otherdepartments and political subdivisions of this state are authorized tocooperate with the director in the development of aeronautics within this state.

   (b) The director, deputy director, aeronautics inspectors,and selected employees of the Rhode Island airport corporation to whom suchpowers may be delegated in the discharge of the duties of their office, have,in any part of the state, the same authority to make arrests for violation ofthe statutes, laws, rules, and regulations relating to aviation and airportsecurity matters, and to enforce those statutes, laws, rules, and regulations,as regular constituted law enforcement officers in the state.

   (c) The director shall issue to each selected employeecredentials showing his or her authority to arrest, which credentials shall becarried upon the person of the designated employee while in the performance ofhis or her duties.
