SECTION 1-7-5

   § 1-7-5  Health study. – (a) The corporation shall provide the department of health with funding in anamount not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000), half to be paidin fiscal year 2008 and the other half to be paid in fiscal year 2009, whichfunds the department of health will use for an independent health studydeveloped in consultation with the department of environmental management, andthe air quality monitoring public advisory committee. The purpose of the studywill be to determine whether and to what extent air pollution generated byairport activities affects the health of area residents based, to the extentfeasible, on established health benchmarks.

   (b) The study shall use the data collected from the firstyear of long-term air quality monitoring at the airport described in theprevious sections to evaluate potential public health implications of emissionsbased, to the extent feasible, on established health benchmarks, and shall becompleted and submitted to the governor, the speaker of the house ofrepresentatives and the president of the senate no later than May 30, 2009.
