SECTION 12-19-3

   § 12-19-3  Deodands – Benefit ofclergy – Petit treason. – Deodands, the plea of the benefit of clergy, and the distinction between petittreason and murder, are abolished. Petit treason shall be prosecuted andpunished as murder.
