SECTION 12-25.1-9

   § 12-25.1-9  Legal expenses of criminallyresponsible person. – Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the general treasurershall make payments from the portion of the criminal royalties fundattributable to a criminally responsible person to that person upon order ofthe court after a showing that the monies shall be used exclusively for thepurpose of retaining legal representation at any stage of the criminalproceedings against the person with respect to the events or conduct being thesubject of the commercial exploitation giving rise to the monies paid to orrecovered by the criminal royalties fund; provided, that the total of allpayments made pursuant to this section shall not exceed twenty percent (20%) ofthe total monies in the applicable portion of the criminal royalties fund.
