SECTION 12-4-4

   § 12-4-4  Discharge of accused –Commitment on failure to give recognizance. – Upon complying with the sentence, the accused shall be discharged; but onneglecting so to do, he or she shall be committed to the adult correctionalinstitutions, there to remain during the term of which he or she was sentencedto give recognizance, and until the costs are paid, and also all the costs ofhis or her commitment, or until he or she shall enter into the recognizancerequired by the sentence before some judge of the district court or justice ofthe peace authorized to take bail in the county, and pay the required costs.
