SECTION 12-9-14

   § 12-9-14  Confinement of prisoner pendingextradition or en route. – The officer or persons executing the governor's warrant or arrest, or the agentof the demanding state to whom the prisoner may have been delivered, may, whennecessary, confine the prisoner in the jail of any county or city through whichhe or she may pass; and the keeper of the jail must receive and safely keep theprisoner until the officer or person having charge of the person is ready toproceed on his or her route, the officer or person being chargeable with theexpense of keeping.
