SECTION 14-1-22

   § 14-1-22  Taking child into immediatecustody. – Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed as forbidding any policeofficer or probation counselor from immediately taking into custody any childwho is found violating any law or ordinance, or whose surroundings are such asto endanger his health, morals, or welfare, unless immediate action is taken.In each of these cases, the officer taking the child into custody shallimmediately report the fact to the court and the case shall then be proceededwith as provided in this chapter.
