SECTION 14-1-23

   § 14-1-23  Place of detention of juveniles.– The board of police commissioners or other corresponding police authority ofeach city and town, and the city council of each city and town council of eachtown where no board of police commissioners or other corresponding policeauthority, exists, may provide and maintain, in their respective city or town,a suitable place or places not directly connected with any jail or lockup inwhich children temporarily detained awaiting the action of the court may bekept so long as detention may be necessary.
