SECTION 14-1-35.1

   § 14-1-35.1  Child advocate as guardian ofestate of child in certain circumstances – Plan for disbursement of funds.– (a) Subject to the provisions of § 14-1-35, the office of the childadvocate shall be the guardian of the estate of any child for whose benefit ajudgment for compensation or order approving a settlement for compensation isentered by the court pursuant to the provisions of § 12-25-3, to be heldby that office in accordance with the requirements of § 42-73-9.1.

   (b) Upon the termination of proceedings instituted under thischapter, the child advocate shall formulate a plan for the disbursement ofcompensation for the sole benefit of the child, whether before or at the age ofmajority, which plan shall be presented to and approved by the family court.
