SECTION 15-8-2

   § 15-8-2  Enforcement. – Paternity may be determined upon the complaint of the father, mother, thechild, or the public authority chargeable by law with the support of the child.If paternity has been determined or has been acknowledged according to the lawsof Rhode Island, the liabilities of the father may be enforced in the same orother proceedings by the mother, the child, or the public authority which hasfurnished or may furnish the reasonable expenses of pregnancy, confinement,education, necessary support, or funeral expenses, and by other persons,including private agencies, to the extent that they have furnished thereasonable expenses of pregnancy, confinement, education, necessary maintenanceand support, or funeral expenses.
