SECTION 16-2.1-2

   § 16-2.1-2  Powers and duties. – (a) The commission is empowered to appoint committees to study specializedareas of concern and to report their findings and recommendations to thecommission; provided, however, that one of these committees shall be a RhodeIsland history committee.

   (b) All departments and agencies of the state shall furnishadvice and information, documentary and otherwise, to the commission and itsagents as may be necessary or desirable to facilitate the purposes of thischapter.

   (c) The commission shall report its findings and/orrecommendations to the speaker of the house of representatives, the senatemajority leader, and the commission of elementary and secondary education.

   (d) Nine (9) members of the commission shall constitute aquorum.

   (e) The commission shall meet at least four (4) times peryear.
