SECTION 16-22-4.1

   § 16-22-4.1  Rhode Island healthy weightpilot program established. – (a) The state shall establish pilot programs in communities of the severalcities and towns to encourage and promote healthy weight and weight managementin children. These programs shall incorporate a combination of exercise andnutrition plans that may include, but shall not be limited to, physicalexercise, including walking and jogging, as well as information on healthy foodchoices.

   (b) Funding for these pilot programs shall be acquired fromfederal grants and related funds allocated to the state for purposes ofcombating obesity, and through such additional sources as the legislature shalldeem appropriate.
