SECTION 16-59-24

   § 16-59-24  Accessibility for people withdisabilities. – (a) The board of governors shall develop a policy, commitments, and proceduresfor students with disabilities setting forth the steps necessary to ensure thatall public colleges, as defined in § 16-59-13, are accessible to personswith disabilities.

   (b) The plan shall be substantially identical to the planadopted by Rhode Island College and shall consider all persons' withdisabilities needs and shall adopt reasonable accommodations necessary toachieve equal participation in educational opportunities.

   (c) The state building code standards committee shall adoptan accessibility for people with disabilities standard for public colleges thatincludes provisions ensuring that public colleges are accessible to and usableby all persons with disabilities.
