   § 16-77.1-3  Federal funds for charterpublic schools start up costs. – Charter public schools may apply for federal funds to support start up costs.Charter public schools shall become eligible to apply for federal funds uponapproval of the charter public school's application by the board of regents forelementary and secondary education. Federal funds shall be distributed tocharter public schools by the department of elementary and secondary educationthrough a process which requires each charter public school seeking the fundsto submit a grant application to the department of elementary and secondaryeducation. The grant application process shall be established and implementedby the Rhode Island department of elementary and secondary education.
