SECTION 2-16-8

§ 2-16-8 Treatment or destruction bydirector. – In case the owner or person in charge of the premises refuses or neglects tocarry out the orders of the director within the period of time after receipt ofwritten notification specified on the notification by the director, thedirector may proceed to treat or destroy the infested or infected plants, plantproducts, or articles or to apply any other necessary preventive or remedialmeasures. The expense shall be assessed, collected, and enforced as taxes areassessed, collected, and enforced, against the premises upon which the expensewas incurred. The amount of the expense, when collected, shall be paid to thedirector, and by him or her deposited with the treasurer of the state.
