§ 20-5-19 Penalty for violations generally– Prosecution. – Every person or corporation willfully violating any of the provisions of thischapter or any rule or regulation adopted under the authority of this chapter,shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500) nor lessthan one hundred dollars ($100) or imprisoned (in the case of a natural person)not exceeding one year, or by both punishments, in the discretion of the court.Proper proceedings for violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shallbe instituted by the attorney general.
