SECTION 21-28-4.17

   § 21-28-4.17  Additional assessment. –Should any person be convicted of or accept any plea bargain relating to anoffense involving the sale of a controlled substance, that person shall, inaddition to any fine imposed, be assessed an amount up to one thousand dollars($1,000) by the court. The assessment shall be transferred to the generaltreasury and deposited in the special account designated as the forfeitedproperty account. The funds may be used by law enforcement officials inaccordance with the requirements set forth in § 21-28-5.04.
