SECTION 23-17.8-13

   § 23-17.8-13  Use of photostatic copies.– (a) Proof of residence status of patients/residents. For purposes ofthis chapter, the status of the residence of a patient or resident of afacility as that term is defined by § 23-17.8-1(c) may be proved by thecontents of a medical chart or record of a facility in which the patient orresident resides or resided.

   (b) Use of photostatic copies of medical records;Originals held available. Medical charts or records of any facilitylicensed under the laws of this state that are susceptible to photostaticreproduction may be proved as to foundation, identity and authenticity withoutany preliminary testimony, by the use of legible and durable copies inaccordance with the provisions set forth in § 9-19-39.
