SECTION 23-24.9-11

   § 23-24.9-11  Disclosure for mercury-addedformulated products – Healthcare facilities. – (a) By July 1, 2005, the manufacturers of formulated mercury-added productsoffered for sale or use to a health care facility in Rhode Island must provideboth the director and the recipient healthcare facility a certificate ofanalysis documenting the mercury content of the product, down to a one part perbillion level. Such formulated mercury-added products include, but are notlimited to: acids; alkalis; bleach (sodium hypochlorite); materials used forcleaning, in maintenance, or for disinfection; stains; reagents; preservatives;fixatives; buffers; and dyes.

   (b) The certificate of analysis must report the result of ananalysis performed for mercury on the specific batch or lot of that productoffered for sale. The batch or lot number of the product shall be clearlyidentified on the product and on the certificate of analysis.
