§ 23-26-30 License required –Application – Issuance and term of license. – No person shall be engaged: (1) as a manufacturer of articles of bedding forsale at wholesale; (2) as a manufacturer of articles of bedding for sale atretail; (3) as a supply dealer; (4) as a repairer-renovator; or (5) as aretailer of second-hand articles of bedding, unless he or she has obtained theappropriate numbered license therefor from the director, who is herebyempowered to issue the license. Application for the license shall be made onforms provided by the director and shall contain such information as thedirector may deem material and necessary. Based on the information furnished inthe application and on any investigation deemed necessary by the director, theapplicant's classification shall be determined. Each license issued by thedirector pursuant to this section shall be conspicuously posted in theestablishment of the person to whom issued. The director may withhold theissuance of a license to any person who shall make any false statement in theapplication for a license under this chapter. The director shall promulgaterules and regulations mandating the term of license for each category oflicense issued pursuant to this chapter; however, no license shall remain inforce for a period in excess of three (3) years. The fee for the initialissuance or renewal of a license shall be determined by multiplying the perannum fee by the number of years in the term of the license. The entire feemust be paid in full for the total number of years of license prior to theissuance of the license.
