SECTION 23-27.3-128.5.2

   § 23-27.3-128.5.2  Waiver of detailed fieldinspection. – (a) The building official may waive the detailed department field inspectionwhen the professional engineer or architect certifies that the constructionwork will be built under his or her field observations and in accordance withthe approved contract documents, and that he or she will certify to the best ofhis or her knowledge information and belief that the construction is insubstantial accordance with the documents and that he or she will submit areport in compliance with § 23-27.3-128.2.3.

   (b) Solely in the case of one and two (2) family dwellings,the building official may waive a detailed department field inspection if aqualified private sector inspector certifies that the construction work will bebuilt under his or her field observations and in accordance with approvedcontract documents and that he or she will certify to the best of his or herknowledge, information and belief that the construction is in substantialaccordance with the documents and that he or she will submit a report incompliance with § 23-27.3-128.2.3.

   (c) The building code standards committee shall establishrules and regulations for certification of private sector inspectors.
