SECTION 23-59-15

   § 23-59-15  Investigations and subpoenas.– (a) The department may make public or private investigations within or outsideof this state it deems necessary to determine whether any person has violatedany provision of this chapter or any rule, regulation, or order promulgated bythe department.

   (b) For the purpose of any investigation or proceeding underthis chapter, the department or any officer designated by it may administeroaths and affirmations, subpoena witnesses, compel their attendance, takeevidence, and require the production of any books, papers, correspondence,memoranda, agreements, or other documents or records which the department deemsrelevant or material to the inquiry.
