SECTION 23-9-9

§ 23-9-9 Quarantine of vessels bound forProvidence. – If any vessel shall arrive in the waters of the state bound to the port ofProvidence at any time while the quarantine regulations of the city ofProvidence are in force, no person on board that vessel shall leave it until ithas been visited and examined by the health officer of Providence, andpermission to land has been given by that health officer or by the city councilof Providence to that person to enter the city. Every person leaving thatvessel without first obtaining permission, shall be fined not exceeding twentydollars ($20.00); and the city council may cause that person to be returned tothe vessel in case it is under quarantine, and to remain there until permittedto depart.
