SECTION 24-1-9

   § 24-1-9  Conduct of trial on damages.– After the service of a notice of condemnation the court may proceed to a trial.The trial shall be conducted as other civil actions at law are tried. The trialshall determine all questions of fact relating to the value of the realproperty, and any estate or interest therein, and the amount thereof, and theappurtenant damage to any remainder and the amount thereof, and the trial anddecision or verdict of the jury shall be subject to all rights to except torulings, to move for new trial, and to appeal, as are provided by law. Upon theentry of judgment in the proceedings, execution shall be issued against themoney deposited in court and in default thereof against any other property ofthe city or town.
