SECTION 27-14.3-2

   § 27-14.3-2  Applicability. – The proceedings authorized by this chapter may be applied to:

   (1) All insurers who are doing, or have done, an insurancebusiness in this state, including a protected cell company organized under theProtected Cell Companies Act, chapter 64 of this title, and any of itsprotected cells established pursuant to that chapter, to the extent notinconsistent with the provisions of that chapter, and against whom claimsarising from that business may exist now or in the future;

   (2) All insurers who purport to do an insurance business inthis state, including a protected cell company organized under the ProtectedCell Companies Act, chapter 64 of this title, and any of its protected cellsestablished pursuant to that chapter, to the extent not inconsistent with theprovisions of that chapter;

   (3) All insurers who have insured resident in this state;

   (4) All other persons organized or in the process oforganizing with the intent to do an insurance business in this state, includinga protected cell company organized under the Protected Cell Companies Act,chapter 64 of this title, and any of its protected cells established pursuantto that chapter, to the extent not inconsistent with the provisions of thatchapter;

   (5) All nonprofit service plans and all fraternal benefitsocieties and beneficial societies;

   (6) All title insurance companies;

   (7) All prepaid health care delivery plans; and

   (8) All nonprofit health service corporations, nonprofithospital service corporations, nonprofit medical service corporations,nonprofit dental service corporations, nonprofit optometric servicecorporations, nonprofit legal service corporations, health maintenanceorganizations, and risk retention groups pursuant to chapters 19, 20, 20.1,20.2, 20.3, 41, and 46 of this title.
