§ 27-18-43 Pap smears – Qualityassurance standards. – A pap smear eligible for reimbursement under § 27-18-41 shall bereimbursed only if the laboratory in which the pap smear is processed islicensed by the department of health specifically to perform cervical cytology,or is accredited by the American Society of Cytology, or is accredited by theCollege of American Pathologists, or is a hospital accredited by the jointcommission on accreditation health care organizations or the AmericanOsteopathic Association at the time the pap smear is processed.
