§ 27-20-14 Coverage for adoptive children.– Subscribers to any nonprofit medical service plan who have satisfied thecontinuous membership requirements of the plan and who adopt children under theguardianship and custody of the director of the department of children, youth,and families shall be afforded coverage under the plan for the adopted childwithout any waiting period, notwithstanding the fact that the adopted child mayhave any preexisting medical condition.
