SECTION 27-25-34

   § 27-25-34  Unfair methods of competitionand unfair and deceptive acts and practices. – Every society authorized to do business in this state shall be subject to thelaws and regulations of the commissioner of insurance prohibiting unfair tradepractices, including laws and regulations concerning discrimination, rebating,and misrepresentation; provided, however, that nothing in the provisions shallbe construed as applying to or affecting the right of any society to determineits eligibility requirements for membership, or be construed as applying to oraffecting the offering of benefits exclusively to members or persons eligiblefor membership in the society by a subsidiary corporation or affiliatedorganization of the society.
