SECTION 28-12-16

   § 28-12-16  Discrimination againstemployees invoking provisions. – Any employer who discharges or in any other manner discriminates against anyemployee because the employee has made any complaint to his or her employer, tothe director of labor and training, or to his or her authorized representativebecause:(1) he or she has not been paid wages in accordance with the provisionsof this chapter, (2) the employee has caused to be instituted or is about tocause to be instituted any proceeding under or related to this chapter, (3) theemployee has testified or is about to testify in any such proceeding, or (4)the employee has served or is about to serve on a wage board, shall be deemedin violation of this chapter, and shall, upon conviction, be fined not lessthan one hundred dollars ($100) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500).
