SECTION 28-20-16

§ 28-20-16 Compliance orders. – (a) If upon inspection or investigation the director believes that an employerhas violated a requirement of § 28-20-8, or of any code, rule, or orderpromulgated pursuant to § 28-20-24, or of any regulation prescribedpursuant to this chapter or chapter 19 of this title, he or she shall promptlyissue a compliance order to the employer. Each compliance order shall be inwriting and shall describe with particularity the nature of the violation,including a reference to the provision of the law, code, rule, regulation, ororder alleged to have been violated. In addition, the compliance order shallfix a reasonable time for the abatement of the violations.

(b) Each compliance order issued under this section or a copyor copies of each order shall be prominently posted as prescribed inregulations issued by the director at or near each place a violation referredto in the compliance order has occurred.

(c) No compliance order may be issued under this sectionafter the expiration of six (6) months following the occurrence of a violation.
