SECTION 28-31-1.1

   § 28-31-1.1  Employees of the city ofProvidence covered. – (a) The city of Providence shall be subject to and accept the provisions ofchapters 29 – 38 of this title and shall be governed by the provisions inthese chapters; provided, that this section is not subject to §§45-13-7 – 45-13-10.

   (b) The city of Providence may elect to provide its employeesbenefits in addition to those required under this section.

   (c) Any provision of a charter, or of any provision of thegeneral or public laws inconsistent with this section, is repealed.

   (d) This section applies to all claims of injuries occurringon or after this section becomes effective for the individual city or town.
