SECTION 28-35-27

   § 28-35-27  Decision of controversies– Decree. – (a) In any controversy over which the workers' compensation court hasjurisdiction pursuant to this chapter, any judge of that court shall, pursuantto §§ 28-35-11 – 28-35-28, and the procedural rules of thecourt, hear all questions of law and fact involved in the controversy andpresented by any party in interest, and he or she shall within ten (10) daysafter the hearing, unless the parties otherwise agree, decide the merits of thecontroversy pursuant to the law and the fair preponderance of the evidence andnotify the administrator of the court of the decision, who shall immediatelynotify the parties by mail.

   (b) Within seventy-two (72) hours of the mailing of thenotice, exclusive of Sundays and holidays, the judge shall enter a decree uponthe decision, which shall contain findings of fact, but within that time anyparty may appear and present a form of decree for consideration.
