SECTION 28-43-18

   § 28-43-18  Civil action to recovercontributions. – If any employer fails to make any payment of contributions or interest on themat the time and in the manner required by the regulations adopted asprescribed, the amount of contributions due shall be collected by civil action.All civil actions shall be instituted in the name of the director, and he orshe shall be exempt from giving any surety for costs. Civil actions broughtunder this section to collect contributions or interest on them shall be heardby the court having jurisdiction at the earliest possible date, and shall beentitled to preference upon the calendar of the court over all other civilactions, except petitions for a judicial review under chapters 42 – 44 ofthis title.
