SECTION 28-5.1-11

   § 28-5.1-11  Law enforcement. – The attorney general, the department of corrections, and the Rhode Islandjustice commission shall stress to state and local law enforcement officialsthe necessity for nondiscrimination in the control of criminal behavior. Theseagencies shall develop and publish formal procedures for the investigation ofcitizen complaints of alleged abuses of authority by individual peace officers.Employment in all state law enforcement and correctional agencies andinstitutions shall be subject to the same affirmative action standards appliedunder this chapter to every state unit of government, in addition to applicablefederal requirements.
