SECTION 3-7-16.7

   § 3-7-16.7  Class AS license. – A retailer's Class AS license may be issued within the state by the locallicensing authority and authorizes the licensee to sell at retail, winespurchased from a Rhode Island licensed wholesaler, to be used for sacramentalpurposes only, to any duly ordained priest, minister or rabbi or to any churchor religious society. The label on the bottle shall designate "for sacramentalor altar purposes only." The holder of a Class A license is also authorized tosell at retail, sacramental wines to be used for sacramental purposes. Theannual fee for the Class AS license is fifty dollars ($50) prorated to the yearending December 1st of every calendar year. The holder of a Class AS licenseshall be authorized to sell no more than two hundred fifty (250) cases ofsacramental wine per calendar year. The license is limited to the same days andhours of a Class A license within the city or town where the license is issued.The sale of wine for sacramental purposes is exempt pursuant to subdivision3-10-1(6)b.
