SECTION 30-13-12

   § 30-13-12  Reports and receiving ofprisoners. – (a) No provost marshal, commander of a guard, master at arms, warden, keeper,or officer of a city or county jail or any other jail, penitentiary, or prisondesignated under § 30-13-11, may refuse to receive or keep any prisonercommitted to his or her charge, when the committing person furnishes astatement, signed by that person, of the offense charged against the prisoner.

   (b) Every commander of a guard, master at arms, warden,keeper, or officer of a city or county jail or of any other jail, penitentiary,or prison designated under § 30-13-11, to whose charge a prisoner iscommitted, shall, within twenty-four (24) hours after that commitment or assoon as he or she is relieved from guard, report to the commanding officer ofthe prisoner the name of the prisoner, the offense charged against theprisoner, and the name of the person who ordered or authorized the commitment.
