SECTION 30-17-8

   § 30-17-8  Residence requirement forassistance. [Repealed effective July 1, 2010.]. – Except as otherwise provided in § 30-24-10, no applicant shall be admittedto the veterans' home or be entitled to any assistance under the provisions ofthis chapter, unless he or she was an actual resident of the state of RhodeIsland on April 23, 1889, or unless he or she served in a Rhode Island regimentor was accredited on the quota of this state, not including those as arealready in the national home; provided, that a Rhode Island veteran who hasbeen honorably discharged from the national home, and is unable to gainreadmission because of the amount of United States pension he or she isreceiving, may be admitted to the Rhode Island veterans' home.
