SECTION 31-18-8

   § 31-18-8  Due care by drivers. – Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter or the provisions of any localordinance, every driver of a vehicle shall exercise due care to avoid collidingwith any pedestrian or any person propelling a human-powered vehicle upon anyroadway, shall give an audible signal when necessary, and shall exercise properprecaution upon observing any child or any obviously confused, intoxicated, orincapacitated person. Violations of this section are subject to finesenumerated in § 31-41.1-4.
